Thuir France December 2014

Thuir is where I had my first workaway experience. Basically I volunteer 2-4hours/day of my time in exchange for free food and accommodation. It is such a privilege to be living and experiencing a new culture with a local family. Thuir is a quaint and beautiful little village in the south of France. This is my first experience living in a village and I must admit it was really challenging for me. The lack of human interaction with people of my own age could become insufferable at times. When it comes to small villages, regardless of how beautiful they are, I have learnt that anything more than two weeks would be too much for a city girl. Nonetheless, I am immensely thankful for the generosity and hospitality of my host family.
